Artist Statement & Biography
My head is full of ideas just waiting to be brought to life on paper. Ideas for different worlds, stories, characters, and other concepts that I’d love to see become a reality. I think a striking character design and worldbuilding is key to an excellent story. I hope that the characters I create and the story I’m telling makes people feel immersed in its world.
jayarelcee is an illustrator from Chicago, Illinois. Growing up, they watched and played a lot of cartoons, anime, and video games, which inspired them to draw and create their own characters and write their own stories. They picked up digital art at the age of 13, when they received their first drawing tablet. Since then, they gained an interest in pursuing art professionally. They attended Columbia College Chicago from 2018-2023, where they earned their Bachelor's of Arts in Illustration.
